    Notes
    • Family tradition is that Anna followed her husband Carl from Germany; he was believed to have come in 1894 and she (with three children Vanda, Gus, and Ledia) in 1898. That tradition does not appear consistent with the birth of Gustav in 1896 or Ledia in 1899; her son Gustav gave his birthplace in the 1930 federal censuses as New York, and his marriage record in 1918 also states that he was born in the US.

The 1930 federal census records show that Anna entered the US in 1902, the same time as her husband Carl.

Anna's maiden name is variously spelled as Kuhn, Kehn, Keane, or Keen in records of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, Jersey City NJ.

Records of 1910 census (incorrectly?) show Anna as born in 1865. Her birthplace was shown in her death registry at St. Matthew's as Germany. The 1920 census records show her as 51 years of age; therefore born in 1869; birthplace shown as Poland.

Her death and burial are recorded in Book VII, p 279 of St. Matthew's; she was survived by her husband, 5 sons, and 2 daughters. She had three daughters, Wanda, Lydia, and Matilda; we do not have death dates for Wanda and Matilda and it may be that one of them preceeded her in death.

Her grave in Bayview Cemetery is reported to show her maiden name as Keane, b. 1866, d. 1932.
