    Notes
    • Record of birth registration from the Roshischtsche (Rozyszcze) Luthern church records (see below). His parent's names are confirmed (mother's name shown as Riemer), and the godparents were listed as Karl Fehlauer and Julianne Fandrich. He was baptized on 10 September by Lehrer (teacher) Jakob Fehlauer.

Immigrated at the age of 20 to the U. S. aboard the SS Darmstadt ex Bremen 4 Sep 1905, arriving in Baltimore date on 27 Sep 1905. He gave his birthplace as Kol. F????, Russia. His destination was his brother Hermann Fehlauer, who lived at 5930 Dearborn St., Chicago IL.

He lived in Gary IN, working as a carpenter. Some time during Depression, he moved in with Adolf and Amalie and lived with them for several years. He then moved onto another farm in Bridgman around 1940-1941 and worked for a man who raised race horses. Known variously as Uncle Charlie, Chuck, and "Gary Boy" (after Gary IN).

Died in Stevensville MI and buried in Lincoln Township Cemetery.

Never married; reputed to be 'character' but no one would offer explanation. W. Schiestel recalls him as jovial loafer who never worked. Ernest Fausak and Uncle Charlie related very well and were said to have had similar personalities.

Karl never became a naturalized citizen; Richard Fausak remembers that he had to fill out alien registration forms every few years.
