    Notes
    • Entry to the United States with wife Adele nee Fausak on 8 October 1913, sailing on the SS Imperator from Hamburg on 30 Sep 1913; entry record available at www.ellisisland.org under Edmund Lenz. He was 23 and she was 28 years of age. His last residence (and residence of his father Heinrich Lenz) was listed as Najow, Russia (probably a transliteration of Neuhof, or Nowodwory in Polish, a village located a couple of kilometers NW of Swidry); both he and Adele listed the same place as their birthplace. Their destination in the US was cousin Emil Fausak, 48 York Street, Jersey City NJ.

The 1920 census records shows Edward (not Edmund) Lentz and family residing at 100 Morris Street, Jersey City NJ. The family comprised Edward at age 28 (therefore * 1892), wife Adele at age 27 (therefore * 1893), son Albert at age 5 (*1915), and daughter Olga at age 1 (*1918-1919). Edward and Adele are shown to have immigrated in 1914, and both were aliens in 1920. Neither could read or write according to the census records, but both could speak English. Edward was shown as a laborer with the railroad.

The 1930 federal census records show the family on an owned farm on East Town Line (?) Road, Wheatfield Township, Ingham County MI. The handwriting is indistinct but appears to show Edmund (not Edward) at age 40; also listed are Adela (not Adele) at age 39, Albert at age 15, Olga at age 11, Harold at age 6, and Elsie at age 3. Edmund and Adele, and their parents, are shown as originating from Warsaw, Poland. Both Edmund and Adele remained alien nationals as of 1930.

    • The marriage registration for Edmund and Adele is one of nine missing records from the Nowy Dwor parish churchbook of 1912. The marriage does appear in the index as entry number 27 (of 37), so they apparently were married in the fall of 1912.
