    Notes
    • Entry to the United States with husband Edmund on 8 October 1913 sailing on the SS Imperator from Hamburg on 30 Sep 1913; entry record available at www.ellisisland.org under Edmund Lenz. He was 23 and she was 28? years of age, and both could read and write. His last residence (and residence of Edmund's father Heinrich Lenz) was listed as Najow?, Russia; both he and Adele listed the same place as their birthplace. Their destination in the US was cousion Emil Fausak, 48 York Street, Jersey City NJ.

An Adele Fausak's name appears in records of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, Jersey City NJ, but it is unclear who her parents were. Because the Adele listed in St Matthew's was born on 31 Dec 1896, that Adele must be different than this one.

The 1920 census records shows Edward (not Edmund) Lentz and family residing at 100 Morris Street, Jerser City NJ. The family comprised Edward at age 28 (therefore born circa 1892), wife Adele at age 27 (therefore born circa 1893), son Albert at age 5 (born circa 1915), and daughter Olga at age 1 (born circa 1918-1919). Edward and Adele are shown to have immigrated in 1914, and both were aliens in 1920. Neither could read or write according to the census records. Edward was shown as a laborer with the railroad.

The 1930 federal census records show the family on an owned farm on East Town Line (?) Road, Wheatfield Township, Ingham County MI. The handwriting is indistinct but appears to show Edmund (not Edward) at age 40; also listed are Adela (not Adele) at age 39, Albert at age 15, Olga at age 11, Harold at age 6, and Elsie at age 3. Edmund and Adele, and their parents, are shown as originating from Warsaw, Poland. Both Edmund and Adele remained alien nationals as of 1930.

She is listed in the Michigan Death Records as Adela Lentz.

    • The marriage registration for Edmund and Adele is one of nine missing records from the Nowy Dwor parish churchbook of 1912. The marriage does appear in the index as entry number 27 (of 37), so they apparently were married in the fall of 1912.

"This happened in Nowy Dwor on the 22nd of July/ 3rd of August 1890 at 2:00 in the afternoon. Karl Fausak, 45 years old, farmer from Neu Swidry appeared and in the presence of witnesses Ludwig Look, 45 years old, and Karl Schultz, 30 years old, both farmers from Neu Swidry, presented to us a child of the female sex stating that she was born in Neu Swidry on the 2nd/14th of July at 11:00 in the evening from his lawful wife Anna born Kuhn, 44 years old. To this child at holy baptism performed on this day was given the name Adele. The godparents were Karl Schultz and Maria Johann Schultz. This document late because of family circumstances, was read aloud to all illiterate witnesses and signed by us alone. Pastor Schultz."
