    • Circa 1920-1921 Amanda and her husband traveled to Europe to visit their parents.

Amanda and her brother Emil (with her 2 year old daughter Bertha) traveled to Muschaken, East Prussia in late 1923 to visit their mother Louisa. Their US re-entry records are available at www.ellisisland.org under the spelling Fauzak. They sailed from Bremen on 4 Dec 1923 aboard the SS Seydlitz and arrived in New York on 17 Dec 1923. Residences for both Emil and Amanda at that time are shown as West New York. Emil is shown as having entered the US in 1907 and Amanda as entering in 1911. The date of 29 August 1923 also appears on the manifest and may indicate their date of departure on this trip. Both give as a reference Eduard Fauzak, 421 Jackson Avenue, Jersey City NJ. Emil gave his place of birth as Radynim, Poland and Amanda gave hers as Janowska, Poland.

Fausak, Adolf; 1913; marriage to Amalie Fehlauer
The man seated next to Amalie is believed to be her brother Hermann Fehlauer (1881<1950), and the man standing behind Adolf Fausak is Amalie's brother Karl Fehlauer (1885-1950). The woman seated at the right front is Amanda Fausak (later Look), and the man standing at far right is Adolf's half-brother Peter Ludwig Fausak (1883-1964). The young woman on the far left is Lydia Kretschmann, daughter of Adolf's older sister Louise Fausak Kretschmann; the man with her may be her father Robert Kretschmann. The two other women standing in the back may be Ottilie Rinau and Auguste Krause, both of whom were in the wedding party. The man in the rear center is unidentified. The boy in front is not identified but may be Reinhold Kretschmann, son of Robert and sister of Lydia.

"This happened in Nasielsk on the 19th/31st of January 1892 at 2:00 in the afternoon. Ludwig Fausak, 44 years old, farm owner from Mogowo appeared and in the presence of witnesses Julius Look, 46 years old, and Wilhelm Simon, 49 years old, both farm owners from Mogowo, presented to us a child of the female sex stating that she was born yesterday in Mogowo at 5:00 in the afternoon from his lawful wife Louise born Hein, 30 years old. To this child at holy baptism performed on this day was given the name Amanda. The godparents were Johann Fausak and Anne Simon. This document was read aloud to all illiterate witnesses and signed by us alone. Pastor A. Damowski(?)."
