    Notes
    • Name also shown as Polinski (the masculine form for which Polinska is the feminine counterpart) in other documents prepared by Adelheid Horicke (nee Witkowski). Julianne Immigrated to US after WWI; apparently her husband Julius had already died in Palnd or Germany by that time. She entered the US in September 1922, preceeding her son Alfred by 3 months; they both moved to North Dakota to live with Eduard (Alfred's brother).

Julianne lived with her children in North Dakota for a time, and then married a Johann Rath in Nebraska. Reportedly, a doctor in ND arranged the marriage between Julie and John Rath, who was in his 70s at the time, at which time she and Alfred moved to Nebraska. The 1930 federal census shows John Rath (incorrectly indexed as Ratley), age 81, and wife Julia, age 66, residing at 277 Malthy(?) Avenue in Sutton.

She returned to Germany after the death of her second husband (Rath) in 1932 (according to her g-daughter Hattie) and died there during the Second World War.

When her son Alfred married Louella Hoffman in 1928, Julie moved back to ND and then to Germany. In Germany, Julie moved back with or near her daughter Dorothea.

Julie did like her grandson Thomas and her granddaughter Adeline, and wanted to take those children back to Germany with her. The children's parents would not let them go.
