    Notes
    • Ludwig's birth registration was found in the birth registry of the Nasielsk Lutheran Church; the record shows his father as Johann Fausak and mother as Anna Redmann. That document, handwritten in Polish script, shows the Polish version of his first name (Ludwik) and his last name as Fauzakk.

Albert Emil Fausak related in 1997 that he remembers his father Emil, and Emil's first cousin Adolf Renn, joking about Ludwig marrying four daughters out of the same family, and with the last one being one of a pair of twins. (Adolf Rennspies, or later Renn, was in also listed as Emil's half-brother inn Ellis Island entry document, suggesting that Ludwig married Adolf Rennspies' widowed mother.)

Ludwig appears at the age of 47 (therefore *1847) as a witness at the birth of Albertyna Krieger in Nasielsk in 1894 (LDS 1,197,738, no. 39, p. 22); the record is handwritten in Russian.

Ludwig appears at the age of 48 (therefore * 1848) as a witness to the birth of Louisa Look in Mogowo in 1896; Louisa Fausak was shown as a godmother to the child.

Ludwig is shown as godparent to Robert Rennspies at his baptism in 1895 (along with godmother Ewa Bauer).

Ludwig is listed as the nearest living relative in Poland on the US entry manifest for his grandchildren Lydia and Rheinhold Kretschmann in 1906. He is shown as resident in Janufka (perhaps Janowko, a village immediately NW of Gasocin located on the railway about 22 km NW of Nasielsk).

Ludwig's name is shown three times in marriage records of his children in St. Matthew's Church, Jersey City NJ in the early 1900's.

Ludwig is believed to have died in East Prussia, Germany about 1925, in his mid 70's. He is shown as living in Germany in Oct 1924 on the U. S. passport application of his son Emil Fausak. Other information came from his daughters Bertha and Emma, who suggested that he died in Bledowo in the early 1920s; that information was given orally to Hattie Fausak during a visit to Germany in about 1980.
