    • Alfred came to the United States at the age of 2 with his older brother Ludwig (Louis) and his mother Hulda in 1911. The ship's manifest is available at www.ellisisland.org.

      His WWII military records suggest that he was born in Danzig.

      Reported to have died in WWII in Aachen, Germany in the Battle of the Bulge; he was a staff sergeant at that time. Vera Fausak Parker said in June 1998 that he tragically died just a few days before the end of the war; she may have the letter sent to the parents informing them of the death.

      RAF recalls wife was named Jane (Janie), and that she remarried.

    "This happened in the town of Nasielsk on the 28th of June/5th of July 1908 at 2:00 in the afternoon. Gottlieb Fausak, 28 years old, a farmer in Bledowo appeared and in the presence of witnesses Ludwig Fausak, 60 years old, a farmer from Janowka and George Sommerfeld, 50 years old a farmer from the village of Bledowo, presented to us a child of the male sex, stating that he was born in Bledowo yesterday at 9:00 in the morning from his lawful wife Hulda, born Leichnitz, 27 years old. To the child at Holy Baptism performed on this day, ws given the name Alfred, The godparents were Adolf Fausak and Ewa Leichnitz. This document was read to the declarent and the illiterate witnesses, and signed by us alone. Pastor A. Glemow(?)"

Confusingly, her father is shown as Johann Haase; other information shows her parents as Wilhelm Leichwitz and Emilie Litge.
