  Notes	Julian was a witness at the age of 21 in 1896 (therefore * 1875) to the birth of Gottlieb Look, son of Adam Look and Maria K____(?). Julian was a witness at the age of 26 in 1897 (therefore * 1871) to the birth of Gottlieb Look, son of Jakob Look and Rosalia (?) Grinke (or Grünke). Julian arrived in the US at the age of 30 on 10 November 1901 aboard the steamship SS Phoenicia out of Hamburg on 27 Oct 1901. The ship's manifest is available at www.ellisisland.org, and shows his birthplace as Brondono (presumably Bledowo). Julian is shown as married, and as a laborer. His record precedes one for Jakob Kolm of Plonsk; they may have been related and traveling together. His destination was New York, to visit a friend Conrad? Müller. His departure record also appears at a Hamburg search page (www.linktoyourroots.hamburg.de); it confirms the above information and adds Place of Residence as: "Mirr, Russland". The Hamburg Passagierlisten also confirm his residence as Mir, Russia. He arrived a second time (at the age of 36) on 23 January 1907 aboard the SS Blucher from Hamburg. The ship's manifest is available at www.ellisisland.org, and shows his birthplace as Blendowo and his first name as Julian. His destination is shown as his brother Adolf Fausak in Jersey City NJ. He was apparently traveling with Ludwig Wichowski, age 40, of Borkowo RP who listed his destination as a friend Carl Fausak at 128 Warren Street, Jersey City NJ. Julian was shown as 5' 5" tall with blue eyes. He did not indicate that he had been in the US before. He paid his own passage and had $10. He was married, and indicated that he could not read or write. Julian and his second wife Maryanna are named on the birth registration of their daughter Bertha from the Nasielsk records in 1922 (no. 9, p. 73, LDS 1,197,635). Julian was 51 (therefore * 1871) and Maryanna was 32 (therefore * 1900). Birth records of son Robert Fausak in 1923 in Bledowo (reg. 33, p. 89, LDS 1,197,635) show Julian, and his age (although deceased) as 52 years old (therefore * 1871).

We declare that, in the presence of witnesses Gottfried Markwart, 38 years old, and Johann Zukowski, 27 years old, both farmers from Mogowo, on this date a religious marital union was contracted between Julian Edmund Fausak, 22 years old, single, a farmer born in Brzezinki and residing in Bledowo, the son of the late(?) Ludwig Fausak and his deceased wife Ewa Zukowski - and - Louise Look, 24 years old, single, born and residing with her parents in Bledowo, the daughter of Adam Look and his wife Caroline, born Fausak. This marriage was preceded by three readings of the banns proclaimed in the Evangelical-Augsburg house of prayer in Konary on the 3rd/5th, 19th/22nd, and 17th/29th of May of the current year. The newlyweds stated that no prenuptial agreement had been made between them.
